United By Blue on Krush

United By BlueUnited By Blue was started by scuba diver and all around sea lover, Brian Linton. In 2006 Brian turned his passion into a business by launching a company that sold a line of sustainable jewelry which donated a percentage of profits to ocean conservation initiatives. After a few years of success, Brian had a realization that his donations could not be pinpointed to an actual environmental improvement. Brian decided to start with a clean slate and launched a new company, United By Blue (UBB), in 2010. What was different about United By Blue? Instead of giving money away, they associate the sale of each product with a concrete environmental action. For every product sold, United By Blue removes one pound of trash from oceans and waterways through company-organized and hosted cleanups. United by Blue really shows their commitment by not just supporting their cause with money, but with REAL initiatives.  On the design side of things, United By Blue draws much of their inspiration from old, weathered harbor towns and Brian’s own travel experiences.

United By Blue’s Men’s and Women’s Spring 2013 apparel lines are now live on Krush. Check out all of their new products which include tees, henleys, laptop cases, and bags. My favorite item from the line is the Mt. Drew Duffel Bag (pictured below). This thing has got all the bells and whistles; 100% organic waxed cotton canvas, Leather handles, two stash pockets on the inside and a removable and adjustable strap with a leather shoulder pad. I know I’ll be picking this up next Spring!
